ZOOMLION CALLS FOR LANDFILL EXPANSION, TIMELY PAYMENT TO IMPROVE SANITATION

Zoomlion Ghana Limited is pushing for improved sanitation nationwide through the creation of new landfill sites and the expansion of existing ones by Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies.

?The Managing Director, Mrs. Doris Adjei, made the call on Tuesday, 23rd June, 2026, during a courtesy visit to the Eastern Regional Minister, Mrs. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, at her office in Koforidua. The visit forms part of Mrs. Adjei’s working tour of the region to assess Zoomlion’s operations and gather public feedback on service delivery.

?Mrs. Adjei urged the Assemblies to honour their financial obligations to the company by ensuring that monthly payments are made on time. She also encouraged them to patronise Zoomlion’s fumigation services, noting that the company has the technical expertise and equipment to effectively manage vector control and public health threats.

?Mrs. Adjei stated that the company remains committed to partnering with the government to keep communities clean and healthy. According to her, with the right infrastructure and support, the company can do even more. She expressed gratitude to the Regional Minister and her office for the continuous support extended to the company.

?On her part, the Minister acknowledged that although Zoomlion has faced public criticism over alleged underperformance in recent times, the company has played a critical role in improving sanitation in the region and beyond.

?She said the government remains unflinchingly supportive of Zoomlion and will provide the necessary backing to ensure it continues to deliver. “The cooperation between my office and the company in managing waste and sanitation issues has been positive, and I pray this partnership endures,” the Minister said.

?Ms. Awatey added that tackling sanitation challenges requires a collective effort from government, the private sector, and citizens, and reiterated the region’s commitment to sustaining the collaboration.
