On Sunday, 28th September 2025, the Koforidua Area of the Apostolic Church – Ghana celebrated its 90th Anniversary at the Jackson Park in Koforidua, under the theme “The God Who Answers by Fire” (1 Kings 18:24).
The celebration reflected on 90 years of faith, service, and impact, while looking forward to continued growth and stronger community engagement.
The four-day event brought together thousands of believers from all ten districts and 100 locals constituting the Koforidua Area of the church to praise, worship, and thank God for His mercies and how far He has brought the church.
Also, in attendance was the Eastern Regional Minister, Mrs. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, who praised the church’s significant contributions to social, moral, and spiritual development in the region and the nation at large.
Mrs. Awatey highlighted the church’s role in community development, education, and health initiatives, and stressed the importance of government-church collaboration for societal progress and moral renewal.
She acknowledged that the church has been very instrumental in promoting discipline, peace, and good citizenship in the country.
The General Secretary of the Apostolic Church-Ghana, Apostle Alex Boateng, expressed concern over the moral decline in the country, particularly among the youth, criticizing the global acceptance of LGBTQ lifestyles.
He also lamented the prevalence of social vices and what he described as moral decadence affecting Ghana’s young people.
Apostle Boateng urged members of the church and Ghanaians to prepare themselves spiritually and position themselves to be used by God, emphasizing the need for spiritual readiness and commitment among church members and the broader Ghanaian community.
He called on believers to advance themselves spiritually to receive blessings from God, referencing God’s promise to lift up His people.
