The Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong has paid a working visit to the Hungary Embassy to interact with H. E. Támas Endre Fehér, in Accra .
The purpose of the visit was to deepen relationship between the Regional Coordinating Council and the Hungarian government, sell the investment potential of the Region and enter into partnership with some businesses and investors that would ensure sustainable development in education, health, commerce, agriculture, works and housing among others.
It would also improve the socioeconomic wellbeing of the people in the Region.
Hon Acheampong indicated that the Region, its strategic location, its proximity to National Capital, Accra and the geographical atmosphere has made it a viable destination for investment and partnership in Tourism, Agriculture, Sports , commerce etc.
He expressed his appreciation to the embassy of the visit of their President to the Eastern Region.
He also thanked the government of Hungary for partnering Community Water Agency in Ghana to improve on potable water supply in Akyem Wenchi in the Eastern Region. Also, for adopting and supporting private basic school in Koforidua through their First Lady Foundation.
H. E Tamas on his part thanked the Minister for the visit and for the warm reception accorded the President and his entourage during their visit to the Region a month ago.
He said apart from offering educational scholarship, Hungarian government has supported Ghana in Waste Management and other sectors of the country’s economy.
He assured that the country was ready to partner the public or private sector in the area of technology transfer, vocational and skills training and any other interest.
