GHANA ARMED FORCES TO ESTABLISH PERMANENT FBO AT AFRAM PLAINS.

All is set for Ghana Armed Forces to establish a permanent Foward Operating Base (FBO) at Maame Krobo, a commercial town in Kwahu Afram Plains South District in the Eastern Region as part of government efforts to improve on the general security in the area and bring the occasional clashes between  herdsmen and crop farmers under control.
This came to light when the Regional Minister,  Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong led a delegation from the Ghana Armed Forces led by the General Officer Commanding the Southern Sector, Brigadier General Michael Amoah and Director Planning and Research Development,  Brigadier General Gyane Adoh Richard to inspect a fifty acreage ( 50 acres) of land given by Kwahu Traditional Council for the establishment of the permanent military base .
The team also  inspected  a temporary accommodation Facility at Kwanin, a nearby community for the immediate habitation by the soldiers.
Speaking to the media after the inspection, Hon  Acheampong  highlighted the need for the establishment of the military base at the Kwahu Afram Plains after several efforts to get the security issues in the  area addressed.
He was optimistic that the occasional conflicts between Fulani herdsmen and crop farmers, persistent reported armed robbery cases which sometimes lead to death would be brought to the barest minimum if not totally eradicated with the presence of the military in the area.
The District Chief Executive for Kwahu  Afram Plains South, Hon. Evans Kyei Ntiri who could not hide his joy thanked the President of the Republic of Ghana,  Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for showing leadership in addressing the challenges in the area.
He also thanked  Kwahu Traditional Council,, Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II, Kwahuhene and Abetifihene and Adontenghene of Kwahu Traditional area Akyemfuor Asiedu Agyeman and the Pitiku Chief.
He assured that the district and its entire populace would to all that it takes to make the soldiers enjoy their stay.
