The 5th Annual Education Consultation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana took place in Koforidua, focusing on the strengths, opportunities, and challenges faced by Presbyterian Schools in the country. The goal was to find solutions that would enhance the quality of the educational system, ultimately improving teaching and learning outcomes.
Rt. Rev. Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mantey, in his address, emphasized that quality education coupled with discipline has always been the hallmark of the Church. He reaffirmed the Church’s commitment to ensuring the delivery of quality education in its schools and urged school managers to reflect the light of Jesus Christ in their institutions.
Mrs. Gifty Twum Ampofo, the Deputy Minister for Education in Charge of TVET, stressed the significance of education, stating that it is the foundation of any nation’s progress. She called on the managers of Presbyterian schools to prioritize the supervision of quality teaching and learning methods to achieve excellent results from students.
Addressing parents, she urged them to instill discipline in their children and guide them towards a path of success in the future.
Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong, the Eastern Regional Minister, lauded the Presbyterian Church for its long-standing commitment to establishing quality educational institutions and training resourceful personnel for nearly two centuries. He highlighted the value of Christian schools in shaping and serving society, producing morally conscious individuals with empathy for humanity.
The Omanhene of New Juaben Traditional Area, Daasebre Kwaku Boateng III, commended the Presbyterian Church for its admirable administrative skills and encouraged them to continue striving for success, benefiting both the region and the nation as a whole.
The event was well-attended by Reverend Ministers of the Presbyterian Church, the Omanhene of New Juaben Traditional Area, the Deputy Education Minister in Charge of TVET, the Regional Director of Education, managers of various Presbyterian schools in Ghana, and students. The program demonstrated the Church’s commitment to fostering a quality educational environment in line with its values and principles.
