The Human Resources Department of the Eastern Regional Co-ordinating Council (ERCC) organised a two-day training on Thursday and Friday, 4th and 5th September 2025, for qualified staff members due for promotion. A total of 310 Local Government Service staff from the RCC and the 33 Municipal and District Assemblies participated in the training, held at the ERCC Conference Hall in Koforidua. The training aimed to enhance their understanding of Local Government Service protocols and interview etiquette.

Mr. Yaw Adu-Asamoah, the Eastern Regional Co-ordinating Director, reminded participants that while the training was to adequately prepare them for their promotional interviews, attending it alone did not guarantee success. He explained that passing the interview ultimately depended on individual effort, continuous learning, and adequate preparation beyond the training room.
Mr. Asamoah encouraged participants to take the opportunity seriously, read thoroughly, and relate the lessons to their daily work. He added that professional growth required consistent practice, discipline, and a commitment to strengthening their knowledge base in order to perform well during interviews and prepare themselves for higher responsibilities within the Service.
During the training, participants were guided through various topics, including the Local Government system, interview etiquette for the Local Government Service, and cross-cutting local government issues.

Mr. Cyril Dzinyanu Xaste (CHRMP), Head of Human Resources at the ERCC, noted that his objective was to develop a highly skilled workforce in the Eastern Region that would improve service delivery. He stressed that building such a workforce would not only boost efficiency but also ensure that the Local Government Service continues to meet the growing needs of the public.
The interviews are scheduled to commence on Tuesday, 9th September 2025.
