PRESIDENT MAHAMA VOWS TO FIX NKAWKAW-OBOMENG ROAD

President John Dramani Mahama has reiterated the urgent need for the construction of the Nkawkaw-Obomeng road, citing its importance to the socio-economic development of the Kwahu area. He made the commitment on Saturday, April 19, 2025, during a visit to the Chief of Kwahu Obomeng, Nana Effah Opinamang III.
Addressing the gathering, President Mahama recalled the infrastructure strides made under his first administration, including the construction of the Nkawkaw-Atibie road, and expressed his resolve to build on that legacy.

He commended the people of Kwahu for their entrepreneurial spirit and acknowledged their vital contributions to Ghana’s economic growth. The President also praised the introduction of the Kwahu Business Forum, an initiative designed to support entrepreneurship and strengthen small and medium enterprises across the country.
President Mahama assured the Chief and people of Obomeng that his government would prioritize infrastructure projects such as the Nkawkaw-Obomeng road to stimulate regional development and improve the business environment.

On his part, Nana Effah Opinamang III lauded President Mahama for his development-oriented policies and described the Kwahu Business Forum as a forward-thinking, non-partisan platform that brings together industry players to share ideas, create partnerships, and unlock economic opportunities.
He highlighted the forum’s potential to generate employment, raise living standards, and enhance productivity. The Chief also applauded the President’s 24-hour economy policy and the “Nkoko Nketekete” initiative, which seeks to revitalize key sectors and drive inclusive growth.

Nana Effah Opinamang III appealed to the government to give urgent attention to road networks in Kwahu, particularly the Begoro-Bepong stretch, stressing that its improvement would ease congestion on the Accra-Kumasi highway, especially during peak travel seasons like Easter.
