GHANA JOURNALIST ASSOCIATION MEETS EASTERN REGIONAL MINISTER

The Eastern Regional Minister, Mrs. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, has commended the media for their pivotal role in shaping governance and all spheres of life. She made this commendation when a delegation from the Ghana Journalists Association’s Regional Branch paid her a courtesy visit on Thursday, 3rd April 2025.

The Minister urged media practitioners to maintain professionalism and adhere to ethical standards in their work, ensuring accurate and unbiased reporting. She emphasized the media’s crucial role in promoting good governance, citing their ability to hold public officials accountable and promote transparency.

The delegation, led by the Association’s Regional Chairman, Maxwell Kudekor, congratulated the Minister on her appointment and wished her well in her new role. He also highlighted the Association’s contributions to the region’s socio-economic and political development. Mr. Kudekor pledged the Association’s unwavering support to the Minister and the Regional Coordinating Council, emphasizing their commitment to upholding the ethics and standards of the profession.

In a related matter, Mr. Kudekor requested the Minister’s assistance in facilitating the documentation process and development of a parcel of land for the Association’s Secretariat. The Minister’s support could help streamline processes, coordinate efforts, and provide the necessary resources for the project.
