Eastern Regional Minister Commissions Asamankese Market Clinic.

The Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery at the community level. She made this assurance on Monday, 3rd March 2025, when she joined the Member of Parliament (MP) for Lower West Akim, Hon. Owen Kwame Frimpong, to commission the newly constructed Asamankese Market Clinic and donate 20 oxygen cylinders to the Asamankese Government Hospital.

The newly established market clinic is expected to provide accessible and timely healthcare services to traders and residents, addressing minor ailments and emergencies without requiring long-distance travel for medical attention. The facility will also serve as a first point of contact for medical needs within the market, ensuring that traders and shoppers receive prompt healthcare assistance when needed.

In her address, Hon. Awatey emphasized the significance of such interventions in improving community health and well-being. She noted that access to quality healthcare remains a top priority for the government, and the establishment of the clinic forms part of broader efforts to expand medical services across the region. She urged healthcare workers stationed at the facility to be dedicated and professional in delivering care to the people.
The Regional Minister also highlighted the importance of the oxygen cylinder donation to the Asamankese Government Hospital, stressing that the provision of adequate medical supplies is essential for effective healthcare delivery. “These oxygen cylinders will enhance emergency care services, ensuring that critically ill patients receive timely treatment, especially those in respiratory distress,” she stated.

On his part, Hon. Owen Kwame Frimpong expressed gratitude to the government and the Regional Minister for their unwavering support in improving healthcare infrastructure in the constituency. He encouraged the community to take full advantage of the new facility and practice healthy lifestyles to reduce the burden on healthcare services.
The event was attended by local government officials, health personnel, market leaders, and community members, all of whom welcomed the initiative as a major step toward improving healthcare access in the area.
