EVELYN KORANG WINS EASTERN REGIONAL COUNCIL OF STATE ELECTIONS

Madam Evelyn Korang has emerged victorious in the Eastern Regional Council of State election, securing 17 votes out of the 66 valid ballots cast. The keenly contested election, held on Tuesday, 11th February 2025, at the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council (ERCC) Conference Hall in Koforidua, saw 24 candidates vying for the position.
In her acceptance speech, Madam Korang expressed gratitude to the delegates for their confidence in her. She called for unity among all contestants and pledged to maintain an open-door policy in her new role.

Earlier, the Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, in her address, underscored the importance of a strong Council of State in advancing governance. She reiterated the President’s vision of resetting Ghana and urged delegates to uphold integrity and mutual respect throughout the electoral process.

Hon. Awatey further emphasized that the outcome of the election should serve as a reminder of their collective responsibility in building a stronger and more united Ghana.

The election was conducted by the Electoral Commission in accordance with constitutional provisions. It was peaceful and without any incidents.
