This initiative, aimed at promoting peace and preventing electoral tensions, underscores REGSEC’s commitment to ensure peace and stability ahead of December 7, 2024 general elections.

The peace tour commenced with a courtesy call on the Chiefs and elders of the Kwahu Traditional Area at the Abetifi Palace. Addressing the gathering, Hon. Acheampong besought the Chiefs and people for a collective responsibility to maintain a peaceful environment during the electoral process. “Peace begins with understanding and compassion. Each of us has the power to make a difference by choosing kindness over conflict, and unity over discord,” he said.

In his speech, Hon. Acheampong appealed directly to the youth, not be used by political actors to create mayhem. He reminded them that Kwahu’s longstanding tradition of harmony should be upheld, even in the most challenging moments.
The Chairman’s message resonated with traditional leaders, who voiced their support for REGSEC’s peace-building efforts and vowed to work with the Council to preserve peace within their communities.

His appeal underlined the media’s significant influence in shaping public opinion and its role to promote stability.

The peace tour continued with an engaging session at the Kwahu South Municipal Assembly, where, Hon. Acheampong and REGSEC members met with religious leaders.
