The government is working assiduously to look for funds to complete all the abandoned Affordable Housing Projects across the country as part of its resetting agenda. Assessments and evaluations are being conducted on these uncompleted projects to bring contractors back on site immediately funds are secured.

\nThe Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources, Kenneth Gilbert Adjei announced this in Koforidua as part of his nationwide working visit to assess the situation on the projects and ensure that they are completed. <\/p>\n

The Koforidua Project, which was planned to have 345 units or potentially up to 2,400 units across all phases, stalled in 2008 following a change in government. It began in 2006 as part of a national initiative by President John Agyekum Kufuor administration. <\/p>\n

Mr Adjei said the facility is located at a viable place with a good road network, close to the Regional Hospital, the All Nations University and many government government agencies and pledged the government’s readiness to complete it. He said it was the taxpayer\u2019s money that was used to start it so work must resume to help ease accommodation challenges in the region for workers.
