The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has launched the 60th Anniversary Edition of the SSNIT Mobile Service Week in Koforidua. This flagship outreach initiative is designed to bring its services directly to the doorsteps of its cherished members and the public.
\nThis year\u2019s event is being held at 59 locations nationwide, complementing the Trust\u2019s 53 branches to make its services more accessible and responsive to members\u2019 needs.<\/p>\n

The Director-General of SSNIT, Kwasi Afreh Biney, emphasized the Trust\u2019s commitment to making social security accessible to all workers in Ghana. He noted that the Mobile Service Week reflects SSNIT\u2019s dedication to providing income security for workers and ensuring that members can access its services conveniently.

\nTo mark the 60th anniversary, SSNIT has introduced the Social Security Literacy Day, also known as the SSNIT Day of Reading, aimed at deepening social security education among young people. The Trust has also implemented several initiatives to enhance service delivery, including the establishment of a Virtual Branch, which will provide 24-hour service and allow members to access SSNIT services online.

\nMr Biney said SSNIT is partnering with selected banks to establish SSNIT Service Desks within their premises and converting its Day Offices into fully-fledged agencies to expand its presence and improve service delivery. The Trust\u2019s investments in key sectors such as energy, education, housing, and finance have also contributed significantly to nation-building, driving growth, creating jobs, and strengthening Ghana\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n

The Director-General encouraged every worker, formal or informal, to take advantage of the services offered by SSNIT and to secure their future by registering and contributing to the scheme.

\nThe Regional Minister, Mrs. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, reminded employers that paying SSNIT contributions is not merely a statutory obligation but an act of fairness and responsibility. She said the people who work for them depend on those contributions for their future well-being; therefore, failing to pay their contributions denies them their right to a decent retirement. The Minister entreated all to be responsible citizens and leaders in their respective spaces, upholding integrity in managing workers\u2019 social security entitlements.<\/p>\n
