Sullivan on Monday,21st March 2022 visited the Eastern Regional Minister,\u00a0 Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong at his office in \u00a0Koforidua, the regional capital.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the visit was to bid farewell to the Hon. Acheampong and the Regional Coordinating Council and to thank them for the excellent working relationship she received during her stay in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>Hon. Acheampong seized the opportunity to present a brief profile of the region. He said Eastern Region has positioned itself for any group or individual who wants to invest in any sector of the economy; tourism,\u00a0 Agriculture, Transportation, sports, \u00a0commerce etc.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on security situation, the Hon. Acheampong, the Chairman of Regional Security Council said the security situation in the region was relatively stable and thanked the Security agencies for their enormous support and commitment to maintaining peace and security.<\/p>\n<p>He also thanked the Ghana Armed Forces for establishing a permanent Forward Based Operation at Maame Krobo in the Kwahu Afram Plains District to maintain peace and security and to address the occasional crashes \u00a0between the indigenous people who are predominantly farmers and the cattle herdsmen.<\/p>\n<p>He consequently expressed his deepest appreciation to the US government for their continuous support to Ghana,\u00a0 especially the supply of COVID-19 vaccine of which he said the Eastern Region has received its fair share of the doses.<\/p>\n<p>Ambassador Sullivan also thanked Hon. Acheampong and the Chief Director of the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council,\u00a0 Mr. Samuel Donkor for the warm reception.<\/p>\n<p>She assured that American Government would continue to offer its\u2019 support to Ghana and other countries to make \u00a0\u00a0life better for \u00a0everyone.<\/p>\n<p>She encouraged the Minister to pay more attention to the tourism potentials in the Region, adding \u00a0that a visit to \u2018Akoko\u00a0 benom Nsuo\u2019 a community in Kwahu where River Pra takes its \u00a0sources, the beautiful mountains across the Region and its tropical forests \u00a0revealed that the Region has a lot to contribute to the world tourism industry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The outgoing US Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Stephanie S.
