<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Eastern Regional Minister, Mr. Seth Kwame Acheampong has held a meeting with Assembly Members from New Juaben South and North Municipalities to solicit their support for a planned programme of decongesting the Regional capital.
\nThe meeting was held at the Conference Hall of the Eastern Regional Co-ordinating Council on Wednesday 2nd February 2022. It was attended by the two Municipal Chief Executives, Hon. Isaac Appaw-Gyasi and Hon Comfort Asante and their Co-ordinating Directors, representatives from the Traditional Council and Technical Staff of the Municipalities.
\nIn his address, Hon. Acheampong indicated that as key stakeholders in the developmental needs of the people, posterity would not forgive them if they failed to correct the wrongs on the streets and central business area of the capital.
\nHe disclosed that an intensive radio discussion would be carried out to create awareness on the need to cooperate and support the decongestion exercise.
\nAccording to the Regional Minister, the project would prevent people from selling on the pavement, drivers loading on the streets and regulates the activities of \u2018Pragya’ and other tricycles. The exercise would be extended to other Municipal Capitals such as Nsawam, Suhum, Oda, Nkawkaw, Oduamase Krobo etc.
\nThe Assembly Members during the open forum pledged their full support to participate and ensure that the aim and objectives of the project was realised.
\nThey however cautioned against political interference which over the years has been a challenge to every good programme.
\nNana Twumasi Darkwah, Gyaasehene of New Juaben Traditional Area speaking on behalf of the Traditional Council also pledged his support for the project and urged the Assembly members to support this laudable project.<\/p>\n
