A parade has been held in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional Capital to mark the 76th Remembrance Day, which is being celebrated worldwide to pay tribute to our the fallen heroes who fought during the first and second world war. The event which started at exactly 09:45 at the Regional Police Headquarters ended at 11:30.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In all, 8 contingents formed the parade, made up of Two contingents from Ghana Armed Forces and Ghana Police Officers. Ghana Fire Service, Ghana Immigration Service, Prisons Service and Veterans Association presented a contingent each.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Addressing the Security personnel after the parade, the Honourable Eastern Regional Minister, Mr. Seth Kwame Acheampong thanked them for ensuring peace and security in the country which he said has given birth to the sustainable development.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

He therefore urged the men who were still in active service to continue to offer the needed respect and courtesies to the veterans bearing in mind that one day they would also retired.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Regional Minister laid a wreath on behalf of the President and the Republic of Ghana, Commanding Officer of 1BN Michel Camp-Tema laid one on behalf of Security Service, Regional Chairman of Veterans Association of Ghana and Ag. Omanhene of New Juaben Traditional Area laid one each for Veterans and Chiefs and people of Eastern Region respectively.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
